Find processor speed

How do I find the speed of my processor without taking apart my computer. I
have HP pavilion 525c and using Windows XP SP2. I go to my system info and
all it shows is the numbers of my CPU. The numbers are ADM ATHLON XP 2600+ I
want to install some later model software and I need 500 Mhz processor.

It should be displayed in the Device Manager within the System Properties page
(right-click on "My Computer" and choose 'Properties' then click on the 'Hardware'
tab and then on the 'Device Manager' button)

Then look under "Processors"

You have above 2000Mhz.

Apologies - I meant "about".

It's between 1900 and 2100 I believe.

I suggest downloading/installing/running "Belarc Advisor" (free from
belarc.com) to find out some specifics about your system.

Unless you have a very/very old PC you exceed that
Your current cpu is about 4 * that requirement
Any decent software would baulk at installing if the PC specs were below its
requirements

ATHLON XP 2600+ is more than adequate.

Your processor speed is 2.6 GHz. And you don't need a 500 MHz
processor: You need 500 MHz or FASTER, which you have by a long shot!

And here's a little free tool that will measure the speed of your cpu
and a lot of other things, too:

Works well.

Their processor speed is not actually 2.6GHz.

It's 1.9-2.2GHz. Look up the processor. ;-)

Yes - they still meet their own needs.

You need to brush up on AMD's processor speed ratings.
