Processor displayed incorrectly in System Properties

I am working on an HP Pavillion laptop with an Athlon 64 3200+ processor
(roughly 2000 MHz). When I check the "General" tab in System properties I
notice that the processor speed is displayed differently each time ranging
from anywhere 894, 994, 594, or even 1.9 GHz. I have never noticed this
before and was wondering how this information is taken. Is it read from the
processor ID or is it a dynamically updated "real-time" processor speed?

May I suggest that you go to HP's website and see if their is a fix or
solution to your issue. Many times their is a patch to fix issues like this
with branded PC's.
