Procedure for removing a NT4 Domain Controller from W2K Active Directory

We have an NT4 Domain Controller in a Windows 2000 AD -
we would like to remove this machine from Active
directory as a Domain controller, rebuild it as a Win2K3
Member server. Does anybody know the procedure? I'm
assuming we need to remove it from the DC OU, remove any
replication to this machine... but then, can we just
rebuild it as a Win2K3 Member server? And can we use the
same name when we rebuild it?

Help much appreciated, thanks in advanced!

Once the machine is pulled off the network remove the machine account from
the directory (the DC OU in your case). Make sure the deletion is has
replicated to all other DCs in domain (as well as GCs in other trees or
child domains if applicable). No other steps are necessary, rebuild it with
the same name.
