karl

I have switched over to cable internet from dial up.

I am having problems sending email but no problem
receiving it.

I have snipped part of the message below for privacy.

The message could not be sent because one of the
recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-
mail address was "snip snip @hotmail.com'. Subject 'CAA
results of survey', Account: 'mail.snip snip.net',
Server: 'mail.snip snip.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '550 5.7.1 <snip (e-mail address removed)>... Relaying
denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550,
Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Hi Karl,

I believe the issue you described is documented in the following Microsoft
Knowledge Base article:

290842 OL2002: SMTP Relay Blocking Error Message When You Send Messages
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=290842

The article above references Microsoft Outlook 2002; however, as the
behavior is not caused by the Outlook client, the issue is the same for all
Outlook versions. For additional assistance with this issue, I would
recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider for possible remedies.

Hope this helps!
