Hi there,

Total newbie here and having problems with computer. We have Windows XP
installed and were having lots of problems so figured the only way to fix it
was do a total recovery disk thing. Only problem is that whilst the recovery
disk is doing it's thing it comes up with an Error 701.

Not sure what that means. Can someone help please?

hmm?,

here is a link with some
info on that error.....

it is possible that this
error was causing the original
problems that prompted you
to do a recovery.

I suggest you need to contact the computer vendor or manufacturer's
support, as the error appears to be coming not from Windows, but from the
recovery software.

It's also possible that the cause of the problems you were having before is
the same thing causing this error.

Unfortunately there's not really any information on the PC brand, what the
errors were, or who actually created the recovery software, so there's not
a lot of other help that can be given at this point.
