problems with Windows XP service pack 2

I just recently upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP
service pack 2 on the family's 2nd computer. We are now
having trouble with all of my son's computer games
working properly. I installed one of the games on the
other computer that has Windows XP service pack 1 and
there are no problems.

I have tried reinstalling the games and this doesn't work
either.

Any advice?
