problems with "view" modes

I use Windows XP Pro and i am having a problem with
the "View" menu:

My default view mode is "Icons". For certain folders,
such as "My music" i
select the "Details" view; on "My Pictures" folder, i
select "Thumbnails".

The problem is that whenever i close the folder and open
it again, it comes
back to the "Icons" view, i.e, it comes back to the
default-mode view.

I have tried to change many settings with no result at
all! I have checked
the "Remember each folder's view settings" but still no
result.

Please let me know what can be wrong here.

Many thanks

Hey there Kelly! How are you doing? How is the world
treating you? I hope everything is hunk dory and wonderful for
you. :)

Windows remembers 400 folder settings. When that number is
reached some settings aren't retained any longer. You can
change this to 8000 by adding this edit to the registry.

Run this edit, then reset your preferred folder options:

Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk.
Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. REG
files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the
file and selecting Edit.

Yes, but Kelly, I thought when it was one of those
"system folders" that XP wants you to have (like My Pictures)
then nothing you did would make it / force it to stay in like
List View no matter what you did?

Or has that thought now changed?

I remember that when we last talked about it we found out
that nothing would get those stupid retarded maggot ridden
snot sucking "MS WE think you need and want THIS folder" (like
My Pictures, My Music, My Blahblah - dictatorial slimeheads!)
to change and keep a changed view from the defaults some drunk
imbecilic twit at MS thought would be oh so very cute.

Who me?! Pet peeve about it?! Naaahhhh..

Anyway; if that has changed then I would really love to
know what you have found / discovered you wonderful helpful
critter! :) I mean it would be great to have My Pictures open
up in list view instead of icon or thumbnail. :)

Be well and take it easy! And if it's easy.. take it
again! :)
