Problems with UPgrade/Repair Install

D

Dee

The install went through, but now I am hung on the Windows screen, it just
sits there and never goes any further. It looks like it finished installing
and I am at the Windows screen that has the blue bar running under the
Windows Logo. After a while the blue bar stops.

I had to do this because none of my applications were opening after taking
it into a computer store and they install a new video card and disable the
video card on the motherboard.

Thanks
Dee

A repair install is never "garrantied" to fix every start up
problems. As long as you have a "backup" of all your data files, you
now will have to see what is the exact cause of the start-up problem.
First steps to fix this is to remove the hardware (new video card) and
return the PC to a config that was working. If you can not then you
would probably only have the "clean" install of XP to fix your
problem. The more you try to repair, the more "damage" you can
possibly do now.

Try a format & reinstall. Whatever you do, do NOT take any advise from
PCButts1 !!!
