problems with safe mode

I booted in safe mode using msconfig. When I went back to normal boot it had
trouble figuring out who the administrator was even though there's only one
identity on the computer. Now the color schemes are messed up and when I try
and return the theme to Windows XP the computer locks up.

You shouldn't use msconfig to boot into safe mode. Press F8 before Windows
Starts to access the boot menu and select Safe Mode.

If your colors are still messed up, I'm guessing you are still booting into
safe mode. Heve you Undone the changes you made in MSConfig?
