I recently upgraded to Win XP from 98se and as such had to upgrade EZCD
from V4 to V6.

I've done that, but when I open CD creator it opens the window but hangs
beofre it paints the contents of the window.

Any ideas ?

I'm also running Mcaffee V8, although it doens't make a difference if I
disable Mcafee.

You didn't uninstall v4 before upgrading to XP and/or v6?

In my opinion, there is a problem with the Roxio software in question and
XP. I have not contacted the vendor yet but I will.

Recently bought a new DELL with XP pro. I installed the software and all was
fine until I applied their maintenance.

As part of their install process, I had to restart my machine.

During startup I had screen after screen of errors. The machine rebooted
itself only to have the problem again.I had to hit the power button to
shutdown. I had to start the machine up in safemode and uninstall their
product. I have since reinstalled their product from my install CD but not
their maintenance.

I am still doing an occasional cleanup from my problem. I had to reinstall
windows messenger and delete some outlook express file that was corrupted.

Like I previously stated, I have not yet contacted Roxio but I will.

A possibility is that the upgrade has left an incorrect reference to the
ver 4 files in registry. Uninstall version 6, then To tidy up, get a
registry patch file, cdgone.reg, from
www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click on it and merge
it into the registry

Then re-install version 6 on a clean slate

..

Have decided not to contact vendor. I went to their website. In order for me
to talk to a tech, I have to pay for it. No way. I rather buy another
product..
