problems with randomly added information in word documents

I have Vista and I have had problems with Word 2000. I have had problems with
saving documents & an error comes up & I sometimes lose the document
altogether. Now added lines appear in all my word documents such as "Normal,
Default Paragraph Font, Times New Roman, random numbers ... etc" I can open
these documents from my USB on another computer & the document is normal. Can
anyone help me?
