problems with new hotmail account

Hi. I'm looking for help with a problem on my new hotmail account.
It used to be that you could store a nickname for anyone in your
contact list and then if you wanted to email that person, you could
just type the nickname in the "to" line of the new message. Now with
Windows Live Hotmail, you have to type the contact's entire email
address, the nicknames no longer work. Any ideas of how to fix this?
