Problems with msconfig and regedit

J

Jo Anne

Recently my computer became infected with the
worm_agobot.r worm, which, among other things, copies
iteself in the system and runs a file called svchos1.exe,
which uses 100% of the cpu capacity, making it almost
impossible to run other programs. I ended up
reformatting and reinstalling Windows XP to get rid of it.

Yesterday, the worm was back! This time I was able to go
into safe mode and remove all the files and registry
entries. But now I cannot use regedit or msconfig in
normal mode. I open them up, and within seconds they
close. As far as I can tell, I no longer have any worm
related files, and Norton didn't find anything else, but
I'm not sure what to do to get these utilities working
again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You are infected with a virus. Type in Start Run

cmd /c tasklist > "%userprofile%\desktop\tasklist.txt"

and post the contents of the text file that appears on your desktop.
