Problems with midi files

Anyone have any ideas as to why I can't hear midi files?
Never had this problem before.They appear to play in wmp
but there is no sound? All other sounds play fine.

I guess it helps to un-check the mute box for sw-
synth.Nothing hurts worse than your own stupidity!
