I continually get messages on various websites that
my "browser is not supported", including Microsoft's own
site. I am using IE 6.0, can someone please tell me what
the problem is?

This likely has nothing to do with your browser itself.
It routinely occurs when your using an application like Norton Internet
Security,
AdSubtract Pro, Guidescope, Proxomitron, Webwasher, and the like to block
Browser/User Agent information.

As a result a website can't identify your browser, and therefore assumes it
is an
unsupported version or type.

Or do you happen to be behind some kind of anonymizing proxy that masks
User-Agent
information?

Also, open your registry, and drill down to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Internet Settings\User
Agent\Post
Platform

Is there a 'Version' value in the right hand window that contains faulty
data?
