Problems With IE6 - PLEASE HELP!

I Recently updated to Windows XP Pro, from Windows ME. My
web browser was working fine until yesterday. When I go
to Yahoo mail, or Hotmail I get a message that says I
need to upgrade my browser to the latest version. I have
the latest version of IE so I tried downloading Netscape
7.2. Trying Netscape also resulted in the same message. I
tried updating to SP2, yet it didn't fix the problem.
Please, any help would be a great convienience!
