After a recent upgrade a persistant and vexing problem with IE6 has
developed.
I am unable to open more than one instance or window of IE6, either by going
to the desktop and double clicking the icon, or (and most annoyingly!) when
clicking a link within a web site such as to view a "Most Emailed Photo" on
the yahoo site. It simply goes to the photo, shuts the original browser
session and leaves me dead-ended without even a back button.
The operating system is XP Pro SP2. the IE version is 6.0.2900.2180...
The pop-up blocker is turned off. There are to external tool bars installed
(eg Google or Yahoo.)
I have a laptop with the same OS and IE version and it works properly. I
have compared the settings on the two machines and they appear to be the
same.
I'm stuck.
