Problems with DUN

I don't know when this stopped working, but I can no longer create DUN
connections under my Networking CP. I can connect to the modem just fine. I
can start a Hyperterminal session and connect to the modem just fine. I just
cannot do anything as far as trying to install a new DUN Networking
connection. I can add new connections using the NIC, but not with it comes to
the modem.
Currently, if I look at my Network Connections, I see NO DUN connections. I
see the ones bound to the NIC just fine.
Is there a service that needs to be running???

Sorry, forgot to add that it is WinXP Pro, SP2 with the most recent patches.
The hardware is a Dell X300 ultraportable with the exact modem drivers for
the built-in modem.
