My computer if having problems downloading certain files.
Recently I lost notepad.exe, so I went to notepad.org to
download Notepad, but when I clikc on the link nothing
happens, and if I try to right click the link and
select, 'Save link as' my computer just makes this kind
of beep/ring sound and nothing happens.

Also, on some pages, the little window that is suppose to
pop up to prompt me to download doesn't, and I made sure
I have ActiveX enabled so I know that isn't it.

Finally, my Gamespot DLX Secure Delivery Plug-in which
allows me to download certian files from Gamespot, which
was working fine about 2 or so weeks ago, has stopped
working. Whenever I try to run it, I get this Secure
Delivery Plug-In needs to shutdown, 'Send Error Report'
or 'Don't Send' box.

Could the problem possibly be with settings on my
computer besides Internet Explorer, or what might be the
problem? I recently had a virus, but it was a trojan and
I looked it up on McAfee's database and it only said it
allowed a 'remote source' to gain data on anything I
input into the computer, so I don't think it has anything
to do with it. Help would be greatly appreciated.

ok, do you have any sort of pop up blocker running? this sounds like a pop up blocker at work. If you dont have a pop up blocker, then you might have a program with some sort of integrated pop up blocker. The beep/ring sound sounds like a pop up blocker at work.
