Problems with Copy/Paste of Text in Powerpoint 2002/XP

When I use the default copy/paste for text inside a text box then the source formatting is always ignored. In fact the pasted text is always in a different font size than the rest of the text box

Only if I do "Paste Special" - "unformatted" text then I get a regular paste. The default paste of PPT 2000 and earlier used to work that way - but this has changed since 2002

Default "paste" for text inside a textbox is useless to me in PPT 2002. I did install the service packs SP1+SP2 but no change..

Is this considered a feature ??

PowerPoint 2002 (aka XP) allows users the options of keeping the source
format, using the placeholder's default formatting, or using just the text
in the active formatting.

When you paste text into a slide, you will notice a small "tag" that appears
on the lower right corner. If you click on the tag, the options will be
displayed. Select 'keep text only" and you'll be mostly happy again.
