Problems Using the Sharing Function of Excel

A number of people on different teams on a large project is trying to use
the Sharing function of Excel. They have report numerous problems with lost
data. Going to the 64,000 row and other problems. One person logged off the
of one Excel sheet on one PC and then log on another PC and it indicated
that he was still logged on to the file. Numerous reports of not being able
to log on because of excessive number of users, etc. These problems and
numerous more was encountered and the Sharing was turn-off. Does anyone
know of a white paper that identifies/documents these types of problems
using the Sharing feature of Excel. Given the number of probems encounterd
there must be a lot of data on this subject. Any help would be appreciated.

Would love to see some info/user experiences on this - had exactly the
same problem with a common use file at work and eventually just turned
off the sharing without coming up with any solutions.
