problems using tcp/ip between home xp and 2000 pro

attempting to set up a lan game though microsft router/switch all computers have access to the internet though router however i have 2 computers with 2000 on them and 1 with xp home the 2000 computers can ping each other fine and the xp computer can ping both 2000 computers the 2000 computers can not ping the xp computer however i get request timed out the firewall in the xp machine is disabled im wondering if the xp computer will not return pings? or maybe there is a known issue I have swapped cabels ports etc and no luck
 
ip address which is 192.168.2.3 all addresses are similar and in the correct range according to manual
