Problems updating AVG

It seems like I'm having problems updating with this new version of avg.
Anyone know any tricks like there was for the last version? Like adding new

....I don't use the Free AVG so can't say whether it worked, but all the
replies the poster received seemed to confirm it...was posted Friday in
here under the title:

Cure for AVG update difficulties

....so if you can go back a few days in your news reader you could read the
thread...

scroll up to a post by Mark Warner titled "Cure for AVG update difficulties"
posted on Friday 1/28/05 11:00 PM, involves editing your "HOST" file. It works
quite well too.

If you're not up to editing your hosts file, you can open your browser and
go to www.grisoft.com and find the update file there, download it to your
computer by clicking on it (you can just put it on your desktop if you
like), then open your AVG 7 and when you get the option of going to the
Internet or a folder, just show it the file on the desktop. It will load
successfully. The server that the AVG 7 goes to must be awfully busy just
now with the switchovers, etc. HTH...J

OS is XP. No problem here with the install or updates.
The last one was 1/31/2005 8:00 A.M. EST USA
Virus base: 265.8.2
