Hello, I recently re-installed Windows XP Pro. Now when I goto certain web
pages to play something it won't play them this also happen when I tried to
play a mpg file from the net for example the Trailers at
www.apple.com/trailers before it used to play them now all I got was a blank
screen with a little box in the corner with a red square, a blue triangle and
a green circle. It asks me to install the ActiveX from Quicktime Installer I
do that but still nothing. I have updated my Java the other day but still it
won't work could you please help me.

Try installing Quicktime for the MOV files.

For MPEG files (MPEG2) you'll need to reinstall your DVD decoding
software... probably PowerDVD or WinDVD, whichever came with your PC.
