problems dialing up AOL with Agere modem.

When I try to dial up AOL, the message "Connected phone
line is not compatiable with modem. Only analog lines are
supported". I have just installed Windows XP,full edition,
in my computer. I have dial tone and correct phone line
and it is plugged into correct inlet. It works sometimes
only after shutting down and restarting. Does not work
most of the time. Any ideas?

Did you contact AOHell regarding this condition.

The virus AOHell causes so many problems that I have taken the position of
turning away customers who insist on using it. I can not charge them enough
for the time it takes to hunt down the source of the problems and they would
be foolish to pay what I have to charge them for my time.

With a REAL Internet Service Provider, such as the service supplied by your
local phone/cable company, you can go anywhere on the internet. Don't know
why people want to hobble themselves with a program that adversely affects
their computer.
