Using Word-XP

I have formated the heading and body text styles in 2 documents, the formatting of the styles differes between the documents.

Problem, I expected that when I copied the text it would reformat and position as per the destination styles. BUT

Destination document:Heading 1 Number @1cm, Text starts @ 2cm. Body Text@2cm

Source document: Heading1 Number @1 cm, Text starts@ 2.75 cm. Body text @ 2.75cm

Text after copy: Heading 1 number @ 1cm, Text starts @ 2.75 cm. Body text @ 2cm

It's postiioned the body text OK, but the text on the heading is as per the source document WHY????? The paste option selected is Use destination styles

I'm promoting the use of styles to redcue reword on text copied between documents and this is not what I expected to happen.

Please help
thanks

Have you tried a style reset after pasting?

Select the pasted text
CTRL-Q

Does that help? I know it has worked for me when I experienced the same
situation.

Other than "It's a bug.", or officially, "It is by design."...
I have no ideas!
