problems connecting to adsl modem

I have a new adsl-connection and I can connect for about one minute then the
connectiond fails. In my event-log i get a message that the dhcp-allocator
has been inactivated because the IP-adress is outside the scop where
Ip-adresses is allocated to dhcp-clients. It then says I should change this
scop, but I dont know how. If I unplugg the network-cable from the modem and
insert it again the connection functions again but goes down a minute later.
pls any suggestions?

Windows XP runs a DHCP allocator when you enable ICS (Internet
Connection Sharing). If you've enabled ICS on the ADSL connection, XP
is using a second network connection for the local area network, and
it's saying that you've assigned an IP address to the second
connection.

Disable ICS. If you're not using your computer to share the ADSL
connection with other computers, leave it disabled. If you are using
your computer to share the ADSL connection with other computers, don't
change anything in the properties of the local area network
connection.

This web page should help with ICS:
