Problems closing Excel

I have a couple of users who are experiencing
sluggishness when trying to close Excel. According to
them, it can take up to a minute when 'X'-ing out of the
application. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please
feel free to contact me via e-mail with them.

Quick to open but slow to close will most times be a function of MS Outlook's
Journalling feature being checked "on".

Have a look in Outlook under Tools>Options>Preferences>Journalling.

Un-check any application you don't want Journalled. Excel for sure.

The problem can also arise when Windows Temp and TIF folders get overfull.

Re-boot then empty these folders.
