Problems after upgrade from windows 1998 to 2000

Does anyone know what could be causing a log-on problem
after upgrade? I was running WIndows 98 and upgraded to
Windows 2000, but now I cannot log on. When I enter the
password everything seems to be working but after about a
minute the password prompt reappears. I am sure I am
using the correct password because "Loading personalized
settings..." appears, any other text entered causes an
error message.

Did anyone know the answer to this question? I am having
the exact same problem with mine and could really use the
help. Thanks
