Problems after updates (9 of them) on my XP Pro

After updates (9 of them) on my XP Pro, a Microsoftware engineer worked on
my machine remotely several hours this afternoon fixing malware etc. Now, I
have several critical problems.

a) All the datasources connecting to MS SQL Server 2000/2005 and Access db
as well are broken from my ColdFusion 8 (access denied) .
b) The system is decidedly much slower.

I thought maybe OneCare Live security software is culprit, so, I turned it
down, nope, not that. What seems to cause the problems?

Thanks.

If the engineer left your computer in an improperly-repaired state you should
speak to him first before going elsewhere. Otherwise you have no come-back
for faulty work.

The slowness may be due to processes (including malware?) still running in
the background. The SQL problem may be due to ODBC passwords or the like
having been lost or changed.
