Problems after installing Novell Client

OS=W2k
Novell Client = 4.9 (installed on top of 4.83 SP1)

Since installing the Novell Client, my computer is unable
to see or be seen by other computers on my Microsoft based
home peer to peer network. Printing to a computer that is
shared off of one of the other peer computers is
intermittent at best and usually doesn't work at all since
the install.

Also, FTP has stopped working!

Does anyone have any ideas???

ftp stopped working? ftpserver? ftpclient? can you post msgs?
have you tried an uninstall & reinstall along with the latest patches for
49?
Are you sure you still have microsoft networking components installed &
didnt somehow uninstall them yourself?

here is a very small list of things to start with once you complete this
list then come back if you have further issues. Yes, that means complete
this list .....

make sure you have all the post sp4 w2k patches

make sure DS is clean & healthy

make sure you are using the latest nwclient & patches
http://support.novell.com/filefinder

make sure you have the server updated to the latest patches & oplocks level1
& 2 are set correct

SLP is setup properly on the server, & distributed properly to workstations
via dhcp (yes, you do want to set this up)

DNS setup properly (yes, you do want to set this up)

that speed/duplex on *everything* is hardset, & hardset correctly

latest drivers for everything (nic/chipset/controller/etc)

check cables, make sure everything is cat5e certified, not using flat
cables/cat3/etc (ive seen it in a lot of places)

purge all volumes & turn off compression

make sure there is more than 10% free on EVERY volume

make sure bios/firmware to everything (server/raid
cards/switches/workstations/etc) up to date

thanks for your reply. Some additional background...the problem is on my laptop which connects to a peer to peer network through a linksys router/switch. I have upgraded to SP4 and I have actually uninstalled Novell Client 4.9 in an effort to fix the problem. However, still have the problem.

The actual problem is that my laptop can't see any of it's peers on the network. Can't use a printer shared off of a peer on the network, because it can't see the peer computer, and for some reason - when I try to ftp a file down to the laptop, it hangs. At the command prompt, I can log in to an ftp server, but when I get to an ftp prompt, and issue an "ls" command, I get a messaget that says "200 Port command successful" but the ftp hangs - no list is generated.

Any additional help would be appreciated.

I have de same problem:
Netware 4.11
peer to peer windows network to shared printers
windows 2000 with cliente 4.83sp2

in a reinstalation de pc don't let anyone to use de shared
folders or printers.

the printer is shared, de user is created as power user,
fixed tcp/ip configured and nothing...

if i go to the other pc(win98) that i tried to use the
shared printer and logon as the user that is usually in
that pc(win2k) and i can used the shared printer,
otherwise no.

i lost some days to resolve de problem...

i uninstall the client 32 and nothing...

what can i do?
