Problems after adware

I need help i just ran adware, 'cos my comp had serious issues and now i
cannot access my start menu, the hourglass stays on the whole time. I have
increases start-up time, so i cant get in2 anything. Is there some way I can
just wipe everything and start again? as i have nothing real important on
there. Any help would be cool

Sure BOP, if you want to get out of this mess quickly, that might be the way
to go, rather than doing an extensive hand repair. There are 2
possibilities:

1. You have a "full" version of XP on a CD.
2. You have an "OEM" version of XP, either on a hidden Hard Drive partition,
or on one or more Recovery Disks. This is usually thae case with Brand Name
computers.

Let us know:
-What brand of computer you have.
-How old is it?
-What kind of XP disk(s) you have, if any.
-Does your increased startup time allow you to use the computer eventually?

Um im not that clued up to be honest, ive got the XP disks that come in a
foldout cover/case thing, its XP home edition. I think its custom built, but
a
pentium, couple of years old maybe 3, and it does start but it takes ages, at
start up it says sec slave drive or something, its been happening since my
brother took out my CD Drive.

So you are saying that there is more than one XP disk?
How many disks are there?
Tell us what is printed on each disk. Thanks

Sorry its just 1 disk, i think it says setup disk or something, im at work so
dont have it with me

Normally, a custom computer comes with a full verson of XP on the CD. You
certainly will know when you turn on your computer and put in the CD. If
your screen says:
"Welcome to Microsoft Winndows XP"
"What do you want to do?"
Then you can follow the instructions to reinstall Windows.
