I am having problem connecting to Windows Mail. Everytime I try log in, it
kicks me out and disconnects the internet. Is there viral thing going around?
Help. I need answers to fix the problem if there is a step to correct the
problem. Thank you.

Do you have a dialup connection to the internet or a broadband connection?
If it's a broadband connection, follow the steps below.

Start Internet Explorer. Click on Tools in Internet Explorer, then Internet
Options, then Connections. If there is no dot in the circle before Never
dial a connection, click on this circle, then Apply. Click on OK.

Start Windows Mail. Click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email
account, then Connection. If there is a checkmark in the box before
Always connect to this account using:, click on this box, then Apply.
Click on OK, then Close.

Click on Tools, then Options, then Connection. If there is no checkmark
in the box before Ask before switching dial-up connections, click on this
box, then Apply. If there is a checkmark in the box before Hang up
after sending and receiving, click on this box, then Apply. Click on OK.

Restart Windows Mail, and see if the problem is gone.

I have a dial up not broadband. I called service providers couple days ago
and was directed to: from tools to account, properties, servers: outgoing
server settings, and put a dot on use same settings as my incoming mail
server. This did not help. I have no problem connecting and receiving mail,
but sending out email is where I get the error message 0x800CCC19. Even if i
do get mail the windows pops up that I am not connected (I am able to read
the message).

Who is your ISP? Can you go online? Sounds like you don't have the POP3, SMTP settings right nor the ports numbers. Go online to YOUR ISP, go to HELP, go to their FAQ and search for POP, POP3 settings. Each server has the ones they need you to put in to your mail client app for their system to recognize you. The in coming is POP3 and the out going is SMTP usually. The port numbers vary as do the SSL requirements and the authorization requirements. I don't know who your ISP is or I would give you the settings here, but they should have them listed in their FAQ. Now if you want the settings for AIM, Comcast or Gmail, I'm there! From your post it seems you have the POP3 setting wrong, most likely the port number and/or the SSL requirement. It should read something like "pop.gmail.com" or "mail.comcast.net" depending on your server requirements. I'd GUESS that it most likely would be "mail.roadrunner.net". No idea on the port numbers. Good luck!

You have gmail? Now that I can help you with. I have it too. Want my WinMail setting for that account?

We would need to see the complete error message.
Right-click on it, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

The incoming and outgoing connections are separate, and therefore one can
be working while the other isn't. I'm not familiar with the settings for
dial-up
connections, but if you right click on the error message and copy all of it
(not just the error number) to your next message, you're more likely to get
help from someone who is.

Also, someone is likely to want to know what if any antivirus programs you
have, in order to check them against the list of antivirus programs that
cause
problems in Windows Mail, so you might want to list them before they ask.

...before all this, when I connect to windows mail, on the same window that I
am connecting, it says that I am not connected (during this connection,
emails that I receive are downloaded) and I have to redo connection when I
click on the new emails. I have to redial to connect to the internet and be
able to read the email messages. My settings on POP3 and SMPT and the their
numbers are correct. I am not able to send email messages. The message comes
up with protocol smtp, port number, and secure (SSL) with error number
0x800CCC19 when I try to send message. What I did was after connecting, I
clicked and moved the file from outgoing to send. I do not know if that
worked. I am still having problems connecting to windows mail.

Go to Tools, Options, Connection, the first box should be checked
("Ask before switching...), and the second box should be unchecked
("Hang up after sending and receiving").

If you continue to get error messages, post an exact copy of that
error message, as I requested below.

WOW!!! Thank you! Tools, Options, Connection, checked and unchecked WORKED! I
unchecked as you said. And it is functioning good now. YAY! Thank you, thank
you, thank you.
