Problem with VPN (Standard Gateway different than in local network)

Sounds like when you connecting to your vpn it's grabbing
the gateway from it's server. In you vpn settings (in
tcp/ip) uncheck the box to pull the gateway.
 
No it definitly should pull the gateway of the local network, but it
pulls the wrong adress. Shouldn't it be 192.168.1.1 instead of
192.168.1.234?
