Problem with User Accounts and logging off.

Help!

For some reason I am unable to switch user, log off etc...with regards to
user accounts.
ie:- START - LOG OFF - SWITCH USER ETC...

I was able to do this before and originally had the default windows xp
process.

For some reason and I can only assume that I have changed it without
knowing, I cannot access other users or indeed log off in the 'default' manor.

What happens is as follows

START - LOG OFF. BOX APPEARS WITH 'ARE YOU SURE' THEN OPTIONS OF LOG OFF OR
CANCEL
or
START - SHUT DOWN. BOX APPEARS WITH OPTIONS OF SHUT DOWN, HIBERNATE, RESTART
ETC...

Has anyone any ideas as to what I may have done? It has obviously been
changed somewhere, but after going through all the options that I can think
off I have hit a big wall.

please help.

The Welcome Screen must be enabled to use the Fast User Switching.

Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the ways users log on or off > Enable
"Use the Welcome Screen" and "Use Fast User Switching"

Apparently, I must uninstall 'client services for netware'?

Any ideas what this means?
thanks again

You know I had the same problem trying to switch users. After taking me
through a raft of things, I still cannot switch users without completely
logging out of the other user. My suspicion is that it all happened after I
also loaded a Microsoft update.

Scroll down and read the post "Fast User Switching" and go down to where I
wrote about my problem (under post David/Ramesh)
