problem with TMPGEnc

Todd

I posted with an issue earlier that TMPGEnc would crash
at the half-way point while encoding any AVI file of
100MB or greater to MPEG2. Papajohn suggested that I
check my file system to see if it was FAT or FAT32.
Since I needed the extra disk space anyway, I added a
second hard drive with the file system set to NTFS.
Working from an AVI file on this new hard drive and
saving to an MPEG2 file also on the new drive, I still
have the issue with TMPGEnc crashing at 50% encoding.
Now, though, I get the error message:

The instruction at "0x77f596b5" referenced memory at
0x303303028". The memory could not be "read". Click on
OK to terminate the program.

Does anyone know where this error message might be coming
from and how to correct the problem? Thanks.

Hi there,

Discusions on TMPGenc use are off topic as this is a newsgroup dedicated to
the use of Movie Maker on the Windows XP operating system.

However, the error you describe is typical of having a bad section of RAM.
You will probably need to replace it. There are other discussions groups
that may be of more use to you.

Todd,
The recent revisions of TMPGEnc have solved some issues regarding memory
usage. Have tried the last version of TMPGEnc?

From tmpgenc.net (revision history):
Version : 2.513:
Fixed: Reading an animation using DirectShow, could result in incorrect
audio or a memory access violation error.
Version : 2.512. 2003/5/20:
Fixed: In an environment where multi-thread was enabled, choosing "Highest
Quality" as Motion Search Precision would cause the encoding to stop halfway
with an error saying Memory access violation error
Versions: 2.511:
Fixed: Adding too many chained files, would cause the program to close
