problem with switching windows

I had a post earlier, and now cannot find it: I apologize for my lack
of technical expertise, but I am a keyboard expert and nothing else.

About three or four weeks ago, after no major mishaps, I suddenly
cannot resource my hidden Taskbar when working along. Its there when I
am at desktop, but once I go into an application, mousing to the
taskbar creates no effect. I know I could unhide the task bar and look
at it all the time, but I don't *want* to. The most frequently open
applications are Firefox, Thunderbird, and Excel.

I *can* ALT TAB to my destination, but sometimes that means ALT TAB TAB
TAB TAB, and that's not as good as {mouse}{click} . . . is there any
help for me? I am thinking I turned of a switch somewhere.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Right click on the taskbar and go to properties and make sure that "Keep the
taskbar on top of other windows" is checked.

I have the same problem. It most commonly happens when when I am using
Firefox or Opera browser in the "Full Screen" mode (by pressing F11).
My solution is to press the "window" key. I have also kept my taskbar
two lines high, so it can accommodate more buttons of running programs.
