problem with sign-in

I've recently started having problems loging on where a
sign-in password is required. Everything else is working
fine until they ask for my password. AOL talked me thru
reinstalling IE 6.0 and said that should fix the problem.
It didn't. Any other clues to what might be the problem?

Fix, if This problem occurs after you apply the 832894 security update
(MS04-004) or the 821814 hotfix.
