problem with renaming files and folders

Aaron

Hello All,

Got a really wierd issue... i am unable to rename any file or folder
anywhere on any drive!!! When i right click and select rename... i get
"explorer.exe has generated an error and will now close". This happens with
any file or folder... on the C drive... desktop... my documents... D
drive... anywhere... same with both files and folders. I am able to right
click and select properties... then change the file name or folder name from
there. Anyone got any ideas????

Thanks,

Aaron

Thanks Wesly,

However I tried to run that shellview program and disabled everything....
nochange still could not rename files. I looked closer at the error
message... I found that a modual was also listed in the error message... a
"comctl32.dll" I then looked to find the files on my hard drive.. i found
that version 5 is my system32, and 3 different versions of 6.0 were listed
in the winsxs folder in windows... i found the version causing the error and
replaced it with the original version of the 6.0 and now i can rename files
:)
