Problem with Pasting

Hai,
I am having problem with pasting a file.I am able to cut
and copy it,but not able to paste that.Like the paste
option is not working.
One more problem is that the search for files and folders
is not opening from the start up menu.
Hope someone can help me out of this.

Start--Run--clipbrd will show you the contents of the clipboard. Do the
things you're copying show up there properly? I've seen some software that
totally hijacks the clipboard, like old versions of Ceridian payroll
software.
