problem with os

There is a problem regarding operating system. Actually i bought a
laptop around 2 yrs. before. It has in built window xp home edition .
Somehow i lost my software cd given with my laptop. I dont know what
to do now. There was some virus problem and i needed to format my
laptop. Now my problem is how can i get that software.. actually the
product key and authentication certificate is there on back side of
laptop. Is there any method of getting software when i have the
registered product key?? Please reply fast. i am not able to use my
laptop nowadays. i will be very thankful to you

Contact the laptop mftr. to get recovery disks or whatever restore media
they offered. Usually the cost is nominal, around $20. Otherwise you can
use a branded OEM install disk (most computer repair shops will be able to
do this for you) or a generic OEM disk and use the Product Key from the CPA
sticker on the bottom of the laptop.
