I have encountered a problem where I cannot open the
Network Setup Wizard (seen in many control panel windows
as "Set up a home or small office network"). The problem
is simply that the wizard completely will not open.
Oddly enough I also know someone else who has encountered
this problem. Has anyone else came across this or better
yet does anyone have a solution short of reformatting?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,
There are 2 things that I can suggest:
1. First make sure that your Network Connections Service
and Remote Access
Connection Manager services are running. If they are
then compare the LAN
connections in the connections folder with the Network
Adapter drivers in
device manager. If there is a Network Adapter driver
that doesn't have a
corresponding connection in the connections folder then
try reinstalling it.

If the services are running and you still have no icons
in the connections
folder, run each of these commands at a command prompt

regsvr32 netshell.dll
regsvr32 netcfgx.dll
regsvr32 netman.dll

And then reboot.

2.-Insert your Windows XP CD-ROM. (If the autorun does
not start double click on the CD-ROM drive in My Computer)
- When the blue welcome screen appears choose 'perform
additional tasks'.
- Then choose 'setup a home or small network office'
This should launch the Networking Wizard.

Hope this helps, let me know if I can assist you further,
Luke.
