problem with jpg's images (happens both with iexplore, firefox, etc)

If i had a page with jpg's thumbnailed, when i click onto them the
images opened into the internet explorer window.
With firefox, with ctrl down, the images opened on a new tab into the
firefox window.

Now, when i click to a image, iexplore/firefox opens the dialog "The
site suggested that "p31.jpg" be handled as an attachment. It is
type..."
and forces me to open it with my associated jpg program.


Example:
http://daily-blend.blogspot.com/2007/12/7-phenomenal-images-of-earth....
When i click on any jpg file to see the full res version, y get
challenged with the "open with (associated program here" program,
instead of the image being opened into the browser windows
automatically.

Anybody know why this is happening and how to correct it?

Maybe the jpg association fix here:

Or a browser security setting so downloads of images won't be blocked.
