Problem with index in help & support

Guest

When I go to start , Help & Support and click on index in the toolbar, all i
get is a red X, what is this? and when I click on related topics, it's like
it mirrors the texts.
I have read many threads with the same problem and have tried there
solutions but to no avail, so am pleading for someone to help. Please.
I use Windows XP Home with SP1.

Thanks.

Microsoft released several updates to the Help control, some of which sets
the Kill-bit to the HHCTRL.OCX activex control, thus leading to the blank
index in Help Center.

Open Regedit.exe and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX
Compatibility\{ADB880A6-D8FF-11CF-9377-00AA003B7A11}

Export the key (File/Export option) to a REG file. Then open the REG file
using Notepad, and post the contents here.

Also, if you have XP Pro installed, run this command as well:

wmic qfe list full /format:htable >C:\hotfixes.htm

Attach or post the contents of C:\hotfixes.htm file also.

More information:

Help and Support Center Index is blank with a Red X mark:
