Problem with IE windows being active

I have IE 6, Win XP.

Often, when I have an IE window open, and then open a second IE window, or
even another Office app, I can't make the original IE window active again,
except by minimizing or closing all other windows that are open. Then the
original IE window becomes active by default.

I should be able to click on the window in the deskbar, or scroll to it
using alt-tab, but i can't. Any suggestions as to what may be happening will
be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same issue. Have no idea how to fix it. Please post a fix if
you find it.
