Problem with Hotmail/add-ons

WinXP SP2 IE6SP2

When I access Hotmail the last few days I get an error message right away
or shortly thereafter:

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to
close.
The following add-on was running when this problem occurred
File: msgsc.dll
Company name: (not verified) Microsoft Corporation
Description: MSN Messenger Service"

What can I do? I have no idea what this means.....

Hi again Jon,
The only thing that worked was to uninstall and reinstall Messenger. I left
Hotmail on all day today, albeit inactive, and it stayed on. Yippee!
