problem with history or cache

Although I changed no settings, IE6 will no longer save
any sites in my history after I close down. I have
checked the cookie settings and they are not turned off.
Not sure what to do. Willing to re-install if I have to.

This may or may not help you, but I ran a cleanup program
and IE6 stopped saving any files in the cache (temp)
folder at all. It was annoying because every time you
went to an old page it loaded it anew. It did not affect
the history folder. I fixed it by creating a new temp
folder with a different name and specify the new folder in
the Tools/Options section. Apparently IE6 lost its link
to the old temp folder somehow and couldn't save a temp
files.
