Problem with cache /history

After installing ie 6 on win 98 I am having the problem of
emptying cache. Even if I go to internet
explorer>options>clear history and also delete cookies and
delete files/folders, I still get items in my address bar
drop down on the browser.

I have tried going to documents and settings and deleting
cookies and history under each user, this has not helped.

Any suggestions?

The problem is very annoying.

Thanks, Mike..I was beginning to think ie6 had a vengeance
on me! Would the same method work with a computer that has
no administrator settings? No users configured at all.
What would I need to do in this case?
