Problem with Hard Drive consistency

D

Daniel

Hi

I am running XP Pro on a 1.3 Gig P4 with 784 Meg RAM,
I have two Hard Drives C and F. (Maxtor)

Recently a scan has been run on F everytime I boot up, the scan message is
that
a consistency problem has occurred and the disk needs scanning, the scan
finds
nothing but when I run the query "fsutil dirty query F:" at the
DOS prompt I get a F is dirty response.

A check with HDTACH and the Seagate Seatools for DOS finds no problems
but Seagate Seatools for Windows finds a problem but does not say what it
is,
it simply fails the scan.

Any ideas what is happening and how I can fix it?

thanks

Daniel

Okay, thanks

it is a real Maxtor, I have the Maxblast 4 that installs to a floppy, is
that the one?
I see that Maxblast 5 is 101 MB so it is probably for new drives only.
I will give the 4 a go tonight.

regards
