Problem with dvd player

I have a Dell Inspiron 7500, and poer dvd installed. My dvd drive is a LG DVD-ROM DRN8080B. I can't play any dvds. Can anyone help? Thanks
 
The first thing I always do in this situation is go to the manufacurers website and see if my drivers are current. That often helps.
 
Do you have decoder software like powerdvd or windvd, to name a couple? If
not you need one. HTH
